Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee and provide construction management services on various construction projects at College of Staten Island for Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.
  • Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.
  • May be the primary client contact for all jobsite day to day activities or may coordinate with client's resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.
  • Ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Interface with all other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Manager in a coordinated effort.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all construction phases.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Manage and resolve on-site conflicts or issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • Prepare and submit daily progress reports, including updates on project status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to discuss progress, address concerns, and make informed decisions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in inspection of educational facility construction.
  • Experience working on DASNY projects
  • Strong analytical, computer, and written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and project scheduling software
  • Familiarity with project management software, most notably PMWeb
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines
