As the Membership & Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for daily activities of the membership program including sales, mailings, member events, data entry and customer service.

Occupational Summary
The Membership and Events Coordinator works in collaboration with the Guest Relations staff to oversee daily activities of the membership program including membership sales and retention. The Membership and Events Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the membership database, processing new memberships, and preparing mailings and other membership communications. The Membership and Events Coordinator assists the Director of Membership and Events with the planning and execution of Member and Development Events as well as facility rentals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the marketing and selling of memberships including on-site, online, and off-site.
- Process payments and donations for membership sales, including entering into the membership database.
- Prepares the mailing membership cards and information to purchasers.
- Prepare new and renewing membership mailings; make phone calls to new, lapsed, and renewing memberships.
- Familiarize and educate oneself about the museum and its programs and exhibits, to best present and explain them to members. Build relationships with members in person and online with personal emails and phone calls.
- Implementation of sales and renewal strategies put in place by the Director of Membership and Events, writing monthly renewal letters and emails, and making direct contact with prospects as needed.
- Coordinate benefit program for membership and looks for new opportunities to enhance the benefits for members. Keep up with benefit contracts and relationships with those vendors.
- Benchmark other children's museums and research and implements membership growth and retention strategies.
- Update membership materials (including renewal forms, tickets, cardstock, packets, etc.)
- Work with the Director of Membership and Events in planning and executing Member events.
- Track membership gift certificate purchases.
- Database support with in kind and corporate donations. Creating and maintaining benefits in database for in kind and corporate donations such as but not limited to ticket distribution, membership discounts, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Educational/Experience Requirements
High School Diploma and 1-2 years of Customer Service Experience preferred.

Weekend work required
Museum floor and office environment

High noise level
20% of work can be done remotely.
Physical Demands
Standing and walking on Museum floor for extended periods and lifting of supplies.
