Intern - Software Engineer - Summer 2026

Veterans United Home Loans is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join us remotely in either Columbia, MO, St. Louis, MO, Springfield, MO, or Lenexa, KS. We are looking for interns to create and maintain web applications to support specific business objectives. This internship is a paid position, and interns will get hands-on experience building large scale web applications in a team environment. 

Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing:

• Construct codes using object-orientated principles, MVC frameworks, and ORMs.

• Test extensively, including unit testing and functional testing.

• Maintain helpdesk tickets and code refactoring.

• Implement applications and source control.

• Create intuitive user interfaces through front- and back-end design.

• Create and maintain documentation.

• Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.
