Practice Manager I - Gastroenterology

Responsible to manage the Finger Lakes Gastroenterology practice. Develops and coordinates department procedures that support the operations of an efficient sepecialty practice. Manages clinic schedules and staff to achieve budgeted volumes while providing exceptional customer service. Acts as liaison with referring physicians as well as hospital and ambulatroy surgery center to ensure timely access to GI procedures. Overall responsibility for the managerial finance functions of the department including expense control, budget development, cash drawer/co-pay collection, and timely and accurate charge entry. Maintains effective verbal and written communications at multiple levels within internal and external customers.

Qualifications EDUCATION:
Minimum:
• A.A.S. degree in business, computers.
Preferred:
• BS in related field


LICENSE:

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
• 2 years experience in Physician Practice, prior supervisory role.
• Experience with computerized patient scheduling.
• Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of Physician billing.
• Ability to create and manage an operating budget.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
• Meditech and LSS systems experience.

• Demonstrates ability to work independently and maintain current systems.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload, develop/maintain efficient office systems and complete payroll.
• Strong verbal/written skills in communicating skills.
• Exceptional organization skills, working knowledge of CPT-codes.
Preferred:
• Outpatient admission/registration experience preferred.
• Medical terminology
