About the Role:
Barron's is looking for an early-career editor to support our lead commentary editor and help the newsroom's renowned commentary reach new heights. In this role, there will be opportunities to write and conduct primary edits on commentary. You will have regular contact with newsmakers and public figures and will be able to work broadly on issues across the economy.
The role is based out of our New York City office.
You Will:
- Research and help recruit potential guest writers;
- Manage communication and copy flow between the newsroom and outside writers;
- Fact check drafts and help ensure they meet editorial standards;
- Oversee article production, including working with the photo team, setting up articles into the Barron's CMS, and optimizing headlines and SEO.
You Have:
- 1-3 years experience as an editor, reporter, or similar role.
- Solid news judgment and a keen interest and awareness of business, finance, policy and geopolitical news.
- Strong editing, writing and rewriting skills.
