Who We Serve 

Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. We offer a full range of mental and behavioral health services, foster care and social services, housing, continuing adult education and early childhood education programs to Medi-Cal eligible individuals and families throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Stockton, Tulare and Ventura Counties.

 

Under the general direction of the Education Director, the Assistant Education Director is responsible for the development and implementation of educational and pre-vocational training activities, academic advisement and counseling, and the career planning and pathing of individuals enrolled at the Recovery Education Institute (REI). The Assistant Education Director provides course instruction in pre-vocational skill development, paraprofessional/professional and personal growth, life skills, wellness, recovery, and student success. The Assistant Education Training Director assists with supervision and training of staff, administers and evaluates student learning outcome data, and provides administrative and management coverage of the REI during the Education Training Director’s absence.

         ·         Ensures all educational and pre-vocational training activities, and academic advisement/counseling components of the program are developed and implemented.

·         Ensures all staff provides a strength-based, recovery-focused, and student-centered approach in all training and academic advisement/counseling activities.

·         Provides educational workshops and skill development.

·         Assists Educational Director in the development of program policies and procedures.

·         Recruits, selects, hires and trains REI staff.

·         Actively involved in staff’s professional growth development and training.

·         Actively involved in student recruitment, community outreach, and program advocacy.

·         Develops effective working relationships with faculty members in instructional areas and perform community liaison activities as required.

·         Performs evaluations on students’ academic progress and educational/career goals with staff and faculty.

·         Ensures training program standards are met through ongoing supervision addressing barriers as they arise.

·         Collaborates and consults with community partners to ensure students’ needs are met.
