We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support ongoing efforts in enhancing and maintaining data retrieval, processing, mapping, and charting for global crop production estimates. This role involves working with geospatial data, database management, and cloud technologies to drive operational excellence.

Work arrangement: Remote
Clearance: Public Trust (must successfully complete a government background investigation)

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines for retrieval and processing.
• Implement geospatial programming solutions using Python (GDAL, arcpy).
• Administer and maintain database operations across Oracle and SQL Server.
• Support mapping and charting efforts to enhance global production estimates.
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based environments for data engineering processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate agricultural and weather modeling techniques.
• Implement cloud-based solutions and maintain cloud certifications where applicable.
• Responsibilities could also include:
• Administer Esri ArcGIS Server and Esri ArcGIS Pro for geospatial data management.

Required:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering. Equivalent work experience, relevant certifications, strong technical skills, and a significant amount of experience in related fields could be used in lieu of a formal degree.
• At least minimum 5 of experience in data engineering, data science, or related fields.
• Advanced proficiency in Python programming.
• Intermediate Linux and Windows Server administration experience.
• Strong geospatial programming skills with GDAL and/or arcpy.
• Experience in Oracle and SQL Server database operations and management.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required)

Desired:
• Master’s degree in data engineering, data analytics, or a similar field,
• Experience with agricultural and/or weather modeling.
• Familiarity with Google Earth Engine for geospatial analysis.
• Expertise in migration to cloud-based solutions.
• Experience administering Esri ArcGIS Server and utilizing Esri ArcGIS Pro.
