Project Engineer - Railroad Bridge / Structural (PE) - Denver, CO or Cincinnati, OH

We are seeking a Project Engineer / Structural Engineer to join our robust Railroad-Bridge team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced rail professional with a strong technical design background. As a Project Engineer in our Railroad-Bridge team you will also contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the Railroad Division.

Location: This role provides the flexibility to work either at our Denver, CO office or our Cincinnati, OH office with the option for remote work as part of our hybrid schedule.

Benesch’s Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working on designing and maintaining active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects. 

The Impact You Will Have: 

• Performing analysis of project elements
• Performing load development and designing calculations of project elements, and checking work
• Preparing organized structural calculations
• Designing structural elements and details
• Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
• Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned
• Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager
• Mentoring team members in structural design 
• Checking details of drafted structural elements

What We Are Looking For:

• BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline, Master's degree preferred
• PE License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 4+ years of structural design experience
• Experience working with Class I railroads preferred.
• Excellent communication and client relation skills.
• Experience with developing plans and specifications utilizing Microstation
• Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
• Ability to perform complex analysis and design
• Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment  #LI-MM1 

 

 

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.

Denver Pay Range $37—$57 USD
