We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fulfill an opening as a Sr. Quality Engineer in our Avionics Supplier Quality organization. An ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and an overall strong quality focus. They must be able to work independently with minimal oversight and able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals.

What You Will Do:

• Support supplier qualification / certification to AS9100/AS9120/ISO9001 through onsite and remote desktop audits. 
• Manage source inspection and material release processes.
• Manage supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal MRB processes.
• Perform Escape management procedures, drive root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) and recommend corrective and preventive action for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers.
• Drive Corrective Action Boards/DQ Clinics with suppliers.
• Conduct activities to support for the RTX Supplier Performance+ program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.
• Analyze quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies using key proactive quality tools such as Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA); Control Plans; Gage R&R or Measurement Systems Analysis; and Process Capability (SPC).
• Travel to domestic internal plants and/or external suppliers as needed to support the business needs, roughly 20-30%

Qualifications You Must Have:

• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting Electronics, PCB/A, Connectors, Harnesses, and Components
• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with AS9100, ISO9001 or similar Quality Management System (QMS) standards
• Competence in conducting root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action.
• Experience with continuous improvement, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, 9S, etc.
• Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes & related industry organizations (Nadcap)
• Strong background on Supply Chain Performance Management 
• Leadership background
• Project Management and Change Management experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills - able to influence others at all levels within an organization.
• Strong presentation skills - able to analyze and present data to all levels of leadership.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Supply Chain or Supplier Quality type roles
• SAP or similar ERP system experience
