Position Summary:
The Tribal Fund Program Manager leads the implementation and oversight of systems, partnerships, and outreach efforts that advance the mission of the Puyallup Tribal Fund. This role is responsible for coordinating grantmaking processes, managing donor and grantee relationships, overseeing compliance and reporting, and supporting strategic development initiatives. The Program Manager ensures the Fund operates efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with the Tribe’s values of generosity, sovereignty, and community well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead day-to-day operations of the Puyallup Tribal Fund, ensuring timely and accurate handling of grantmaking, donation, and program activities.
2. Develop and manage systems for tracking grants, donations, reporting deadlines, and fund distribution.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact for donors, grantees, community partners, and tribal departments.
4. Oversee and improve internal processes, including data tracking, reporting systems, and documentation protocols.
5. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and 501(c)(3) regulatory requirements.
6. Coordinate and contribute to the development of the Fund’s annual report, strategic plan, and board updates.
7. Supervise the preparation and delivery of grant reports, impact updates, and funding documentation.
8. Support planning and execution of donor engagement strategies, community events, and public communications.
9. Draft, edit, and approve public-facing materials such as newsletters, social media content, and press releases.
10. Collaborate with Tribal Council, community leaders, and the Fund Board to align giving strategies with tribal priorities.
11. Assist in identifying new funding opportunities, partnerships, or capacity-building strategies.
12. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Fund’s operations and mission.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides guidance or direct supervision to administrative staff, interns, or contractors as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field and five years of progressively responsible experience in non-profit management, fundraising, development, grant management or a related field; or an Associate’s degree with at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in experience in non-profit management, fundraising, development, grant management or a related field or related fields that demonstrate strong relationship management, organizational coordination, and communication skills. Experience managing budgets, timelines, and reporting systems. Prior experience supervising staff, volunteers, or projects is preferred. Demonstrated ability to build trust and work collaboratively within tribal, community-based, or culturally grounded environments.
Language Skills
Able to write professional emails, take accurate meeting notes, and prepare clear internal documents. Comfortable communicating with donors, grantees, and community members in a respectful and courteous manner.
Mathematical Skills
Able to handle simple budgeting tasks, track expenses, and perform basic calculations using spreadsheets.
Reasoning Ability
Able to follow directions, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot scheduling or task-related issues with minimal supervision.
