About the role

Summary of job contents

 The Planning and Systems Manager will strategize and lead all Planning and Lifecycle processes and activities at Festo Corporation.  The Supply Network Planner (SNP) will use the SP module of Kinaxis RapidResponse to plan requirements via the “Consensus Demand Plan” for local consumption which is manufactured across a global network of GPC’s (factories) and serviced by RSC in Mason.  Rough cut capacity assessments will be performed and necessary actions completed to suport production changes. This includes the end-to-end process of the material lifecycle and part setup.

 

Key accountabilities

  •  Support reaching KPI targets- forecast accuracy and forecast bias, inventory, and delivery by creating and utilizing strategic sustainable processes to maximize inflow and outflow
  • Independently develop and implement roadmaps for the area of responsibility
  • Leads strategy for Supply Network planning– analyze the gaps between Consensus Demand Plan and consumption; determines the scale of stock transfers, stock adjustment on cost centers, customer solutions demand etc. and considers them in the SNP
  • Knows and communicates the supply chain restrictions - analyses the critical path in supply chain; considers capacity bottleneck in the production plants and Festo vendors 
  • Evaluates together with Demand Planning the Biggest Changes and defines measures for closing the gaps
  • Prevents bull whip effects – analyze the deviation origin (e.g. sales campaigns, lot size effects etc.) and adjusts the SNP accordingly
  • Ensures the correct determination of the supply source
  • Planning related master data maintenance and updates
  • Support Customer Project Process (CUP²) and risk assessment
  • Core member of the monthly demand planning meetings with Product Management
  • Leads Demand/Supply alignment meetings- Supply Review, Pre-S&OP, Executive Review 
  • Provides structured information for the Sales and Operations (S&OP) process, including rough cut capacity planning and drives coordination between Production and Procurement
  • Direct responsibility for phase in and/or phase out setup and process, including but not limited to, monitoring lifecycle status, entering projects on SharePoint, collecting and processing feedback, updating settings at the appropriate time, Daily OTRS, Demand Peaks, MSPT, unblocking parts, support with alternate materials
  • Responsible for part setup including YUHOL, lifecycle part maintenance, management of part setup mailbox
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis requests, KPIs/Metrics, and reports within Supply Chain using tools but not limited to SAP R/3, BI/BO, Dispo-cockpit, established tools & process, and using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Visio, Access)

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years+ of Supply Planning across a global network preferably from a global company preferably with Kinaxis RapidResponse
  • 5 years+ of experience in supply chain with a focus on spare parts with Multi-national interfaces
  • Knowledge in all facets of Material, Logistics, Procurement, Warehousing, and Supply Chain Management in general
  • Excellent in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and SAP
  • Ability to work with large amount of data via Microsoft Excel or Access
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to top management and various stakeholders
  • Experience in Lifecycle, obsolescence management and inventory planning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead decision-making process for cross-functional teams, and to exercise independent judgment on decisions involving business risk. 
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Intercultural competence and organizational skills
  • Up to 5% domestic and international travel is expected
  • Business fluent English skills
