Description Overview

 

The Sr. Manager Quality (Supply Chain Quality)  will manage and control the quality of products and materials as they move through the entire supply chain, from raw materials procurement to finished goods reaching the customer.

This position works closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Perrigo Nutrition Sites and Suppliers to develop and drive a supplier quality management program, including supplier evaluation, audits and quality performance monitoring.

Scope of the Role

 

  • Develops and manages supplier quality management program, including supplier selection, supplier quality performance monitoring and supplier audits, aligned with the principles and values of the organization and strategic objectives of the business.  
  • Work with site quality to define/review raw and packaging materials specifications and incoming inspection plans
  • Ensures proper supplier performance management, including raw and packaging materials quality deviations/investigations and trends, and non-conformance management (exceptional releases) for raw and packaging materials. Escalates events as appropriate per Global Policies and Standards.
  • Logistics and Distribution Quality: Ensure that finished products are handled, stored and transported under proper conditions, meeting the Perrigo Policies and Standard to maintain the required quality.
  • Ensures compliance with related laws, regulations and guidelines, including support for non-conformance management (exceptional releases) for raw and packaging materials.
  • Responsible for cross functional communication and metrics report out on supplier quality performance
  • Drives and builds a culture of quality, compliance and continuous improvement for supply chain quality.
  • Active participant in the supplier approval process and in regular supply chain meetings.
  • As needed participation in the management of change process and food safety committee.

Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or closely allied field, with an advanced degree beneficial.
  • Eight plus years of progressive quality and/or operational leadership experience in highly regulated food (i.e. Infant Nutrition or Nutritional Supplements) or pharmaceutical industries. 
  • Must possess solid knowledge of HACCP, audit management, and regulations governing food manufacturing quality practices.
  • Experience in supplier quality management oversight of highly regulated food manufacturing operations (i.e. infant formula, aseptic processing, sole source of nutrition food products), including providing guidance and decisions on quality and compliance related issues based on solid risk management principles commensurate with cost implications, preparing objectives and goals, and leading cross functional periodic quality review meetings.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including well-developed interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage both internal and external relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including management, supply chain, technical services, regulatory affairs, site quality, procurement and suppliers. 
  • Understanding of continuous improvement culture.
