Job Description

As Senior Engineer, Inside Plant Construction Management, your responsibilities are to forecast and oversee timely issuance of material orders, shipments, expedites, and report material ordering statuses, material transportation, receipt, and protection (garaging) of Brightspeed inventory staged at or near the build area. The Senior Engineer ISP Construction Management will develop and maintain processes and detailed reporting to support and validate all materials that have been ordered were delivered per the relevant detailed bill-of-materials for multiple projects (+/- 20-to-30 simultaneous) BOMs.   The incumbent will also coordinate with local engineering and secure final sign-off and authorize payment upon satisfactory completion of XGSPON OLT installation, power and turnup.  This role will provide an end-to-end seamless materials oversight function to enable Brightspeed to meet or exceed our FTTH build schedule targets. 

This position will report to the Director of Engineering and requires in-depth knowledge of inside plant networks as well as supply chain ordering, shipping, receiving and validation processes.  The Senior ISP Construction Engineer works closely with peer team members, local design team, inventory planning team, and our installation partners to ensure the XGSPON OLT build projects are on track and 1-2 months ahead of the OSP build.  In this role, you will work with engineers, sourcing and supply chain, logistics and our construction/installation partners to ensure material orders are accurate processed timely and material is delivered on-time and protected to avoid costly delays to the construction build process.

In addition, as the Senior Engineer Outside Plant Construction Management you will need to maintain a forward-looking posture and partner with our Supply Chain team and with our Inventory Management and Logistics partner to provide a strategic view of material needs 6-12 months in advance of construction.  The role may also include coordination of related projects such as Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) opportunities to ensure we meet business goals.

As Senior Engineer inside plant (ISP) construction management your duties will include:

• Oversee timely issuance of material orders, oversee shipments, expedite, and report material ordering statuses, material transportation, receipt, and protection (garaging) of Brightspeed inventory staged at or near the build area.
• Develop and maintain processes and detailed reporting to support and validate all materials that have been ordered were delivered per the IQGEO BOM.
• Track and approve all IQGEO invoicing as construction closeout tickets are reviewed and approved for payment by the local engineering team.
• Provide an end-to-end seamless materials oversight function to enable Brightspeed to meet or exceed our FTTH build schedule targets.
• Maintain a forward-looking posture and partner with our Supply Chain team and with our Inventory Management/Logistics partner to provide a strategic view of material needs 6-12 months in advance of construction

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

• Bachelor’s degree or 5-8 years of directly related work experience
• Experience with inside plant (ISP) engineering and construction processes and specifically material oversight processes required to stage large OSP projects involving the placing of aerial, underground and buried telecommunications facilities
• Experience managing large multi-state projects
• Experience with working with municipalities and utility partners
• Experience managing larger regional infrastructure services vendors
