Programs computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery that automatically mills, punches, drills, broaches, and reams metal parts. Program and setup robotic equipment. Makes adjustments to adhere to established specifications or to correct faulty programming. Makes general decisions as to quality, tolerances and operation sequence. Use precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work. This position offers:
- Starting pay of $32.20/hr. up to top pay of $45.44/hr.*
- Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential
*additional shift differential for off-shifts

What You Drive at DTNA
- Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
- Design jigs and fixtures from blue prints
- Select machining tools and understand what they are designed to do
- Fixturing and tool grinding applications
- Program CNC mill and lathe equipment (Fanuc, Siemens, Cincron and Acramatic controls)
- Operate special machining tools (uses for tools and their capabilities)
- Knowledge of types of fabricating materials, their uses, and physical capabilities
- Operate manual and automated measuring equipment
- Operate all types inspection gauges
- Perform test runs
- Maintain on all equipment
- Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
- Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
- Operate various tools and equipment in the area
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power & hand tools and other equipment in the area.
- Strong knowledge of operation and maintenance of grinding, polishing, milling, lathing, robotics or measuring equipment
- Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Cincron, and Acramatic)
- Understand the dynamics of the various types and grades of grinding wheels
- Requires certification and at least 5 years experience that includes machine programming
- Accurately interrupt blueprint specifications and determine what is needed to satisfy defined specifications
- Understanding of all types of applicable measuring equipment for part validation
- Knowledge of Computers (Excel, Word, Power Point) to track and report out on projects.
- Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must maintain a clean work area.
- Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
- Cross train on other jobs as required
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
- Blue Print knowledge, experience operating a Mill/Lathe, gauge experience and computer skills.
- Previous mechanical experience
- High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
- CNC programing/experience is preferred
