WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt/11 month
SALARY RANGE: $70,000-$80,000

The Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT) opened its doors in 2001 as a 700-student school serving grades K-6. Today, CSAT is a busy campus consisting of three distinct buildings (Elementary, Middle and High Schools), that host approximately 2,300 students from 19 different school districts throughout WNY.

Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Special Education will help shape the direction of our program by administering, monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating Special Education programs and services offered by CSAT.
Responsibilities
- CSE
- Attend CSE meetings- ensure the completion of related summary reports, draft IEPs, and any other CSE responsibilities for the agenda assigned
- Monitor student progress reporting periods and completion
- Monitor behavior for possible MDR meeting that is held by the student's residing district
- Attend Hearings
- 504
- Monitor and write all 504 plans
- Schedule and hold meetings
- Monitor behavior for possible MDR meeting that is held and facilitated by CSAT
- Attend Hearings
- Assign & track all 504 students in eSchool
- Upload all current 504 plans in eSchool so all teachers/staff have secure access
- Student Supports
- College Board SSD Coordinator- Apply and maintain all HS students College Board accommodations (PSAT, SAT, & AP) for students with an IEP, 504 Plan, or Temporary disability
- ACCES-VR liaison- work with special education teachers to identify students who would be candidates for transition program, organize and transfer proper
- paperwork to ACCES-VR coordinator, schedule and invite parents and students to all meetings throughout students junior and senior year
- Participate on designated PBIS Team and Leadership Teams
- Attend/schedule teacher or team meetings
- Attend/coordinate parent conferences and meetings
- Provide additional resources to K-12 teachers who have specific concerns or needs
- Special Education Teachers & Related Services
- Collaborate/support
- Bi-Weekly scheduled meetings for each building
- Provide guidance for changes in Special Education Law, Graduation Requirements, Transition Planning, & IEP components
- Progress Monitoring- provided tutorial/support to track IEP goals
- Compliance
- Monitor services to ensure we are in compliance
- Informing/Mailing home parent information (Procedural Safeguards)
- Other Duties
- Collaborate with Guidance for scheduling students in grades 6-12
- Collaborate/coordinate NYS testing w/ Building Administrators
- EdCamp sessions
- Bachelors degree in Education required
- Masters degree in Education preferred
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within Special Education
- Outstanding project management skills and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
