Job Summary:  

The Strategic Operations Coordinator will oversee the internal operations, logistics planning, and interagency coordination efforts for the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (MOACE). This role ensures the smooth execution of arts and culture initiatives, special events, and office-wide strategies by managing workflows, tracking progress, and aligning agency efforts with citywide goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive organizer and systems thinker with strong experience in municipal operations and project management.

Essential Functions:

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  •   Coordinate cross-agency planning meetings, timelines, and action steps for major events and initiatives.
  • Develop systems for monitoring and evaluating office-wide operations, workflows, and deliverables.
  • Manage logistics for key city events, including scheduling, deployment coordination, and resource planning.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for city agencies regarding operational planning for MOACE-supported activities.
  • Track budgets and resource allocations in collaboration with the Director and Grants Coordinator.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and develop internal process guides to increase office efficiency.
  • Support the Director in strategic planning, reporting, and citywide policy implementation efforts.
  • Assist with onboarding new staff and coordinating internal trainings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business, or related field.

Experience:

  • Experience working with or within city government preferred.
