You will take ownership of a modern Kotlin-based codebase—using CLEAN architecture, Jetpack, and enterprise Android best practices—to deliver a seamless, content-driven experience in a restricted/kiosk-mode environment. This role involves close collaboration with product, design, and backend teams, integrating with device management services, and implementing robust OTA content delivery workflows.</li><li>You’ll be part of a distributed, remote team and will regularly participate in client-facing discussions, demos, and technical decision-making. We’re looking for someone who thrives in complex technical environments, communicates clearly with stakeholders, and operates with autonomy, ownership, and a solution-oriented mindset.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Mobile Application Development and Maintenance</strong></p><p></p><ul><li><strong>Own the Application Codebase:</strong> Take ownership of the existing native Android application codebase, which is architected using Kotlin and CLEAN architecture (UI, Domain, Data layers).</li><li><strong>Codebase Re-architecture &amp; Technical Debt:</strong> Lead efforts for rearchitecture of existing codebases and actively work on the removal of technical debt to ensure long-term maintainability, performance, and scalability.</li><li><strong>Feature Implementation:</strong> Implement new mobile features and modifications based on custom designs provided by design teams.</li><li><strong>New App Variant Development:</strong> Create baseline variants of the application for new product initiatives.</li><li><strong>Template Customization:</strong> Modify and create new custom module templates utilizing core Android components.</li><li><strong>UI/UX Implementation:</strong> Implement complex UI elements, including new layouts, motion graphics, custom animation transitions, and placing assets/copy per design specs.</li><li><strong>Content Management Integration:</strong> Ensure the application properly communicates with a central API for periodic content requests to download and install custom content over the air (OTA). This process utilizes Work Manager for scheduling server calls.</li><li><strong>Localization Support:</strong> Implement support for locale translations (creating new strings, adding copy and assets) for existing and new locales.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Deployment and Infrastructure Transition</strong></p><p></p><ul><li><strong>Codebase Transfer</strong>: Experience with migration of codebases between repositories.</li><li><strong>App Store Management</strong>: Manage the process of transferring applications between developer accounts.</li><li><strong>Release Management:</strong> Manage the app hosting via a Managed App Store platform and deploy new releases (AAB files) to production and closed testing tracks, adhering to device policies.</li><li><strong>Device Management Integration:</strong> Understand and maintain interaction with the Android Management APIs or similar services used for device provisioning, installing the app in restricted/kiosk mode, and utilizing Managed Configuration to deliver runtime primitive values (like server environment).</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Analytics and QA</strong></p><p></p><ul><li><strong>Analytics Implementation:</strong> Add and maintain Google Analytics/Firebase tracking and tagging for user interactions and engagement statistics, ensuring all custom user properties (e.g., device_identifier, user_id, location_name, location_id) are correctly se
