Sr. Accounting Specialist

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Review, analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Research ledger items to resolve discrepancies and explain variances
• Produce monthly reports and assist in month end closing
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Ability to self-manage and ensure tasks are done timely
• Provide documentation and supporting schedules to auditors
• Perform trend analysis on P&L accounts
• Record, depreciation, payroll, A/P accruals and tax accruals
• Handle straight-line rent entries, re occurring entries and allocations.
• Other duties as assigned

Other Skills & Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of accounting (P&L and Balance sheet)
• Very focused on to detail and accuracy; double checks work.
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills
• Has strong organizational and prioritizing skills
• Has strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in relevant computer applications; knowledge of AccPac a plus.
• Familiarity with GAAP

Physical Requirements

• Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Accounting required.
• 3 to 5 years of General accounting experience.
• Solid experience and skills in Microsoft Excel

Certifications & Licenses

• Professional certification may be required in some areas.

California State required disclosure: Salary range for this position is between USD $41,000 and $55,000 per annum.
