About the role

The International Clinical Specialty Representative is responsible for promoting Mayo Clinic's core values and supporting community-based health care and integrated delivery systems through the sale of Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) tests in Hematology and Oncology within the Asia Pacific and Europe  regions. 

Accountable for education, generating new business revenue and co-developing  promotional strategies for MCL tests with clients. 

Reports to the Director of Sales for the Asia Pacific and Europe market and works in close collaboration with the local area team (LAT) for Asia Pacific and Europe. This includes a regional manager, a clinical specialty representative for Neurology, and a regional service representative. 

Co-develops and implements business plans for territory/accounts with the  LAT. Effectively sells and compels buying influences, engaging with physicians, and institution/laboratory leadership to move testing to MCL by differentiating from competing  laboratories. 

Coordinates appropriate resources and develops presentations. Participates in the bid process for new and upsell opportunities. Collaborates with the  LAT, product managers, and sales trainers. This individual identifies specific tests or groups of tests that are differentiated in the market and pursues upsells to targeted clients and new business prospects. 

This individual along with the regional manager, will negotiate test pricing, coordinate contract development and execution, and monitor the accurate lock-in of prices.

This position may require travel up to 80%.

  • Bachelor's and three years’ experience in sales in healthcare (preferably within the market segment they will be representing (i.e., Hematology/Oncology), physician/client-facing contact, or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting. 
  • Sales cold-calling expectation required 
  • Full business-level proficiency (verbal and written) in French preferred. 
  • Full business-level proficiency (verbal and written) in Mandarin, Korean, and/or Japanese a plus. 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a proven track record of successful international sales experience.
  • Strong preference is given toward candidates with technical biosciences background, e.g., formal education in biology, chemistry, immunology, or genetics. 
  • Must have excellent human relations and communications skills. Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and able to perform well within multi-functional environments, and be customer focused. 
  • Must be able to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects. Must possess decision-making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be able to function and work in a diverse work environment while selling MCL services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner. 
  • Must maintain a high level of integrity and be self-motivated to work independently. 
  • Must keep abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements. 

License or Certification: 

  • Active passport 
  • Ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation both domestic and internationally.
