General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Assist in all aspects of fertilizer plant operations and warehouse operations duties.  To include but not limited to; stocking and retrieving package and bulk containers, forklift, and general housekeeping.  The role requires strong mechanical ability and aptitude.  Must enjoy working with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to repetitively bend and lift boxes and bags to 70 lbs. (at a rate of up to 3 units per minute for 2 hours) while working in a non-climate-controlled area
  • Safety first attitude
  • Basic math understanding and manipulation
  • Able to distinguish colors
  • Must be able to write Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Ability to run the Bagger/Heat Sealer efficiently, if applicable to the location.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including order picker, pallet jack, and other equipment as required

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Properly label all containers and packages.
  • Neatness and attention to detail on all paperwork, and seeing that it all returns to the office for processing
  • Daily Maintenance and Cleanliness of all plant equipment and plant
  • Oversee tank farm cleanliness and upkeep. Secure the tank farm at the end of each day
  • Fill containers with proper material and match the label and order.
  • Wear proper safety equipment per SDS sheets of chemicals being handled by an employee
  • Make sure the tank is cleaned and ready to be filled, Ensure the integrity of the containers being filled is solid.
  • Utilize catch basins for spills
  • Monitor all tanks that are being pumped into or out of for leaks, spills, or damage
  • Make sure all containers are properly cleaned when done filling
  • Make sure all packaged products are put safely onto a pallet and wrapped with shrink wrap before being put into the warehouse for storage or onto the truck for delivery
  • To complete daily and weekly checklists
  • Utilize and follow policies and procedures
  • Complete and enforce daily JSA
  • Follow and understand order pick tickets
  • Determine the correct packaging materials needed by product type.
  • Calibrate and monitor manufacturing scales
  • Handle finished products with care and ensure the final pallet is within standard.
  • Operate all equipment with respect and to company policy
  • Identify needed and complete maintenance as needed and to their best abilities.
  • Accurately document work orders filled and turned in daily for computer entry
  • Perform quality control while handling products
  • Perform other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently

Training Required, post-hire:

  • All Position Specific SOP Training Requirements, specific to the location
  • Fully successful in performing and demonstrating tasks and skills required of a material hand
