About the role

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Procurement Specialist to join our team. As an IT Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for all IT-related goods and services within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of IT equipment, software, licenses, and services while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of IT products and services, and a proven track record in procurement operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine IT procurement needs, create purchase requisitions, and develop procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Purchase Facilitating: Lead efforts to maintain inventory levels of IT goods, services, and materials on a regular basis.  Ensure all products and services meet company standards.
  • Budget Management: Monitor IT procurement budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring adherence to allocated budgets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procurement regulations, and legal requirements related to IT procurement activities.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with IT procurement processes, including vendor reliability, product quality, and cybersecurity concerns.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, prepare reports, and provide periodic updates on procurement status, cost savings, and vendor performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Purchasing Professional) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • IT Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT products and services, including hardware, software, licenses, cloud services, and emerging technologies.
  • Procurement Skills: Demonstrated expertise in procurement strategies, supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost analysis.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and assess potential risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in managing procurement processes, documentation, and financial records.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in using procurement management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
