Job Title: Affiliate Faculty - Chemical Engineering (no salary)

Position Start Date: October 13, 2025

 

Required Degree: Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or related field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

 

Experience: Work experience in chemical and biological engineering, especially in the design and operation of bioreactors.

 

Duties/Expectations: 

The Chemical Engineering Department at BYU changed its name to Chemical and Biological Engineering in Fall 2025. We are excited to increase educational opportunities for engineering students in biological applications. We are seeking an expert in the field to assist us in accomplishing this.

The affiliate faculty member will do the following:

  • Collaborate with other faculty to design and implement experiments and computations to promote teaching of chemical and biological engineering to students
  • Collaborate with other faculty to design and implement experiments and computations to promote cutting-edge research in the department
  • Advise undergraduate students in research projects
  • Potentially serve on graduate student advisory committees, subject to meeting graduate faculty status requirements
