Summary 

The Warehouse Floor Manager – BESS will oversee daily operations within our Battery Energy Storage Systems warehouse and production support areas. This role ensures all warehouse floor requirements are met, including material flow, inventory accuracy, staff coordination, and operational readiness for BESS production. The Warehouse Floor Manager will supervise day‑to‑day warehouse activities, manage material movement, support production teams, and maintain a safe, efficient, and well‑organized warehouse environment. 

Responsibilities 

Warehouse Operations & Floor Management 


Oversee all daily activities on the warehouse floor, ensuring efficient material flow to and from BESS production lines. 


Ensure compliance with warehouse safety protocols, material‑handling standards, and BESS‑specific operational procedures 


Coordinate with Project Managers and Production Control to ensure materials, components, and job orders are staged and delivered accurately and on time. 

 

Staff Supervision & Development 


Supervise direct reports and provide leadership, coaching, and performance management.  


Train and develop team members on warehouse processes, BESS‑specific material handling, equipment operation, and safety requirements. 


Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture that supports continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

Scheduling & Workforce Management 


Manage employee schedules and floor hours through Paycom, ensuring adequate coverage across all all warehouse and BESS support functions. 


Collaborate with the Scheduler to maintain an optimal floor mix aligned with production priorities and workforce capabilities. 


Monitor attendance, productivity, and staffing needs to ensure efficient resource allocation. 

Inventory, Materials Coordination & Forecasting 


Oversee inventory management for all BESS components, ensuring materials are accurately tracked, properly stored, and readily available for production. 


Conduct materials forecasting by reviewing production schedules, job orders, and upcoming BESS project requirements to determine material needs in advance. 


Compare current on‑hand inventory against future production demand to identify shortages, gaps, or excess materials. 


Coordinate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Production Control teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials based on forecasted needs. 


Support cycle counts, material audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and reduce material waste. 

Cross‑Functional Collaboration 


Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to support BESS product improvements, process updates, and compliance initiatives. 


Communicate production status, challenges, and resource needs to leadership and project stakeholders.

Qualifications 


High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 


Minimum of 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience in warehouse operations, logistics, manufacturing, or renewable‑energy environments. 


Minimum 1 year experience with material forecasting and related activities 


Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams. 


Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities. 


Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with digital scheduling and workforce‑management tools. 


Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. 


Able to work on-site in Portland, Tennessee.
