About This Role
Directly supervises Technical / Business Support and/or Production / Maintenance employees in Materials Planning and SIOP supporting Viessmann Climate Solutions at our Rhode Island facility. Plans and sets day-to-day operational objectives, including storing and shipping of products, planning activities, responding to inquiries, and checking quality of work. Prepares inventory control reports and manuals.
Job Description
Management:
Responsible for warehouse employees i.e., safety, training, and development and goal setting
Manage warehouse employees to support company sales demand in an efficient and organized manner
Daily prioritize and direct receiving, production, shipping and storage processes
Maintain relationships with freight and parcel carriers, negotiate rates as needed
Support company goals and initiatives by leading the team in executing directives from senior management
Warehouse:
Ensure all goods received, incoming and outgoing quantities, are verified, free of defects, and accurately processed in SAP
Decide on the most cost-effective pricing for shipments, and verify against bills received
Coordinate trucks and bills of material
Manage freight claims
Receive, tag, and store returned goods in the warehouse
Count raw and finished inventory to ensure accurate records (cycle-counting)
Manage and guide compliance with inventory control practices and ensure maintenance of physical and ERP inventory records through cycle-counting, location audits and material movement processes
Coordinate shipments with multiple warehouse locations i.e., local off-site and 3PL warehouses
Building Maintenance:
Manage and oversee all building maintenance
Act as the first point of contact for all emergencies and security needs
Available to receive potential telephone calls during “off regular hours” regarding “urgent” or emergency issues.
Oversee building maintenance i.e., alarms, elevator maintenance, landscaping and general construction
Approve supply orders pertaining to the daily functions and needs of the business
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of logistics or warehouse experience
2+ years of inventory control experience
2+ years of people management experience
1+ years of working experience on MS Office
Ability to pass an inhouse Forklift test
Able to be “on-call” for after-hours building emergencies
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Certification in Supply Chain Management (or equivalent)
Certification or Degree in Lean Business Management
Experience in ERP Systems (SAP) and sound computer knowledge
An effective team player with proven coaching, organizational, performance management, leadership skills and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail with strong organizational and planning skills.
Effective English communicate (verbal & written) throughout the organization including off-site stakeholders
Pay Range
