The Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of assigned programs. This position supports the University's Title III grant initiatives by coordinating programs that advance internationalization efforts and promote nationally competitive scholarships, fellowships, and honors. The incumbent collaborates with campus partners to increase student engagement, strengthen a culture of scholarship, and expand participation in international and prestigious academic opportunities that prepare graduates for success in an increasingly interconnected global environment.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Raise awareness of fellowship, scholarship, study abroad, and international engagement opportunities through print and digital communications, social media, workshops, classroom presentations, and virtual and in-person information sessions.
- Serve as the primary advisor for nationally competitive and international fellowship and scholarship opportunities. Maintain current knowledge of program requirements, eligibility criteria, policies, application procedures, and deadlines.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to identify and recruit high-potential students early in their academic careers for prestigious national and international awards.
- Recruit, advise, and mentor students pursuing fellowship, scholarship, and international opportunities. Guide students through all stages of the application process, including proposal development, essay writing, interview preparation, and securing letters of recommendation.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, academic departments, and university offices to identify, support, and prepare students for fellowship, scholarship, and international engagement opportunities.
- Serve as the institutional liaison with fellowship and scholarship sponsoring organizations and represent the university in external partnership activities as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Office of International Programs staff to support international academic initiatives, including credit-bearing study abroad programs, faculty-led international experiences, international exchange programs, and the Peace Corps Prep Certificate Program.
- Assist with the planning, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of programs and services administered by the Office of International Programs.
- Collect and maintain program data and prepare reports related to student participation, outcomes, and program effectiveness
