Position Summary:

A Brief Overview:

Reporting to the Facility Service Manager, the Forklift Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting powered industrial equipment service calls issues and performing repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment based upon customer demands as directed by the manager.

What you will do:
 

• Acts as a top-level specialist to deliver technical support for the Forklift Maintenance area under limited supervision, referring deviations from standard practices to managers.
• Diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction Establishes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for all systems and equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance efficiently and effectively, in line with company procedures.
• Ensures adherence to all regulatory and organizational safety guidelines.
• Conducts most complex daily work orders.
• Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques and processes.
• Maintain records of all service work and repairs performed in line with company procedure. Turn in paperwork in a timely fashion, ensuring accuracy and legibility.
• Regular (daily/weekly/monthly) equipment inspection and checks.
• Exhibit a professional demeanor, promoting goodwill between the company and client by providing a superior level of customer service.
• Unplanned electrical, mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Control and adjustment of sensors and switches.
• Exchange and set up of mechanical & Electrical wear and tear parts for rolling stock.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to walk, stand, pull, climb, bend, reach, and stoop for an extended period of time.
• Occasional medium lifting requirements (0-20 lbs.) and an occasional heavy lifting requirement (up to 75 lbs.).
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail for load accuracy.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally (courteous and cordial).
