Job Overview
The Seafood Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and developing strategic partnerships within the seafood industry. This role combines market analysis, sales strategy, customer relationship management, and product knowledge to identify new opportunities across retail, foodservice, wholesale, and international markets. The manager will work closely with procurement, operations, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure product offerings meet customer needs and comply with sustainability and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
· Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities in domestic and international seafood markets.
· Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects across retail, foodservice, distribution, and industrial sectors.
· Develop customized sales strategies for different market segments, product categories, and customer profiles.
· Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and supply programs to ensure profitability and long-term partnerships.
Market & Industry Research
· Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitor activities, pricing fluctuations, and emerging species.
· Monitor global seafood supply chains, sustainability requirements, and regulatory changes that may impact business.
· Provide detailed market intelligence reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Customer Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and strategic partners.
· Visit customers regularly to understand their needs, product specifications, and quality expectations.
· Deliver exceptional customer service by collaborating with operations and logistics teams for on-time and accurate order fulfillment.
Product Development & Portfolio Expansion
· Work with procurement and product development teams to introduce new seafood products that align with market demand.
· Provide feedback on product specifications, packaging, certifications (MSC, ASC, BAP), and value-added opportunities.
· Support sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with industry certifications and traceability standards.
Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Coordinate with supply chain, production, quality control, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts and programs.
· Assist in forecasting demand and planning inventory levels to support customer requirements.
· Participate in internal strategy meetings to align sales goals with production capabilities.
Brand Development & Marketing Support
· Represent the company at seafood trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
· Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, product guides, and presentations.
· Provide input for digital marketing strategies, including product launches, campaigns, and content.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports and revenue forecasts.
· Track performance metrics such as sales growth, margin improvement, and market penetration.
· Adjust sales strategies based on performance analysis and changing market conditions.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Marine Science, Food Science, or related field (MBA preferred).
· 3–7 years of business development or sales experience in the seafood industry or perishable foods sector.
