Position Summary
The Portfolio Strategy Lead will serve as the strategic engagement lead for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) with worldwide medical neuroscience professional societies and associations. The primary focus of this role is to develop and lead the strategic engagement plan for Global Medical Neuroscience Matrix professional societies and associations. The Senior Director will be a core member of the Global Medical Neuroscience Leadership team and will report directly to the VP, Global Medical Neuroscience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategy for Professional Societies and External Engagement for key centers around the globe to execute on key initiatives including pipeline acceleration efforts, clinical trial recruitment and scientific collaboration for the WW Medical Neuroscience organization.
Contribute to portfolio level strategic initiatives such as global advisory boards/engagements with KOLs to drive insights shaping Portfolio Strategic Plans
Develop a thorough understanding of the disease states associated with the Neurodegeneration and Neuropsychiatry portfolio.
Establish, maintain, and enhance strategic relationships with prioritized professional medical societies and associations, identifying and directing activities based on business priorities to create mutually beneficial relationships. Represent the organization at key professional medical meetings and provide updates to management. Thorough understanding the mission and vision of each organization.
Anticipate and recognize policy trends and implications for BMS, bringing these insights back internally.
Collaborate with medical teams and key internal stakeholders to create and initiate innovative engagement strategies with professional societies, aligning with specific therapeutic area strategic imperatives.
Lead and align with internal stakeholders to determine company representation or participation in professional medical societies’/associations’ initiatives and interactions, including corporate roundtables, forums, and science/clinical interactions.
Serve as an internal strategic advisor to BMS matrix teams and cross-functional initiatives. Serves as the primary relationship manager for professional societies’ community, representing BMS at external meetings, making presentations to appropriate audiences, and preparing internal reports.
Work extensively with BMS senior leaders across multiple departments, including WW Medical Neuroscience Development, Discovery, Translational Medicine, HQ and Worldwide Medical, Commercial, Public Affairs, Access, and Clinical Operations, to optimize interactions with professional societies and associations.
Develop and apply evaluative outcomes and insights to programs and activities to monitor success.
Educate internal stakeholders about professional societies and their functional roles.
Understand the complex and evolving healthcare environment and landscape, ensuring that all interactions and strategies are implemented accordingly and compliantly.
Work with team to support activities both internally and externally, including processes and procedures. Team contributor to optimizing internal and external society engagement procedural and operational best practices.
Strategically manage budgets in alignment with departmental objectives.
Ensure all activities comply with company policy and legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: BA/BS degree minimum requirement in area relevant to pharmaceutical
