About the role:

An exciting opportunity to grow your career with the multi-functional Arden Hills Analytical Laboratory AHAL). Quality Technician II will primarily support product acceptance testing and material batch release activities. Additionally, this position may also support some investigational product analysis, characterization, design validation test, etc. This role conducts a variety of mechanical and material inspections and analyses including, tension/elongation testing, compression testing, microhardness/durometer testing and physical destructive analysis via mechanical cross section and microscopy inspection/analysis. This position will interface with laboratory staff and management as well as manufacturing operations including incoming quality assurance. Individuals with experience working in laboratory or manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.

 

Your responsibilities Include:

  • 75% - 90% Routine laboratory data collection for product acceptance or in-process monitoring to support manufacturing
  • 10% – 25% Supporting investigational data collection, report writing, or supporting equipment maintenance activities
  • Perform routine laboratory testing in accordance with FDA and other regulatory requirements, and internally established procedures.
  • Interpreting product specifications, identifying out of spec conditions/atypical results/deviations, and following procedures relating to nonconforming material.
  • Following well-established test procedures, specifications and/or written instructions while maintaining good documentation practices when recording laboratory techniques, equipment parameter settings, and data in lab notebooks, test reports, and other organized means.
  • Collect and analyze product acceptance data and compile into laboratory reports
  • Maintaining lab safety practices while ensuring equipment in is good working condition.
  • Willing to operate in a flexible manner and be able to switch priorities at short notice.
  • Demonstrate problem solving in delivering process and analytical understanding.
  • Providing data in an acceptable timeframe according to manufacturing schedules.
  • Facilitating tensile/elongation testing on raw materials (silicone tubing, fabrics, vendor supplied materials) using established programs on a mechanical tester (Instron)
  • Conducting mechanical cycle testing on custom-built equipment and fixtures
  • Conducing mechanical cross sectioning (grinding/polishing) which involves working with chemicals and abrasive papers to expose internal features within a sample optical inspection using a stereo microscope

 

Required qualifactions:

  • 1 years of relvent experience with an Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience

 

Preferred qualifactions:

  • 1 year working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
  • AA degree or 2 years of college education
