Job Description

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on our Machine Learning Pod, you will lead the development and maintenance of our core machine learning infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in ML systems, data pipelines, and automation to ensure scalability, and reliability. An ideal candidate would have experience working closely with Data Scientists and Infrastructure/Data Engineers. You are an experienced problem-solver with strong development skills in Python and have a passion for technology. You will be scaling machine learning models, leading AI-driven projects, and optimizing our AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for serving machine learning models.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to distill complex data problems into elegant technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
• Lead the Cross-Mode Optimization project to build an AI-driven transportation system.
• Enhance the accuracy of Stop Estimation to support product initiatives.
• Develop and maintain the infrastructure for AI CoPilot.

Required Qualifications

• ML Systems Expertise:
  • Experience with real-time & batch ML systems (serving models)
• Enterprise Experience:
  • Experience solving data challenges at large enterprises that scale data infrastructure
• Python Proficiency:
  • Advanced proficiency in Python at a senior level
• Technical Leadership:
  • Technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience at scale

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science or related field
• 5+ years experience in software development
• Infrastructure development experience with big data infrastructure such as Databricks, Kafka, Spark, etc.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern big data

Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $156,000 - $217,000*

Compensation will vary based on factors including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Baton's full-time employees are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
