Reports to:  Birth & Beyond Team Leader

Status: Full-time or Part-time

Pay range: $22.64-$29.43

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Birth & Beyond Home Visitor, Family Service Initiative conducts one on one parenting education and community resource referrals in the homes or community settings of families. This position is focused on serving families with the youngest child aged 0-3. This position develops service plans, facilitates assessments and screenings, utilizes and follows the program model to fidelity, maintains client chart & computer chart records, attends regular training and meetings, conducts outreach to engage families in the program and facilitates Family Resource Center events, classes, groups, and activities.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Work, Child Development or Psychology preferred.
  • Two years minimum experience in working with or providing services to children and families OR three plus years’ experience in social service experience with families, children and/or youth.
  • An ability to establish trusting relationships and acceptance of individual differences.
  • Experience and willingness to work with the culturally diverse populations present among families with infants and toddlers and who receive support from the Department of Human Assistance.
  • Strong knowledge of infant and child development. 
  • Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
  • Ability to complete Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual assessments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to implement assessment tools per protocol.
  • Fluency in additional languages: Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Russian or Spanish preferred.
  • Efficient Time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and organizational needs.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing and demonstrate a high level of listening skills.
