Job Summary
The Clinical Resource Analyst provides support to physicians and staff for certified clinical system(s). Participates in implementation and upgrade of Electronic Health Records (EHR) applications and interfaces. Acts as clinical liaison between corporate IT, hospital leadership and clinical end users. Clinical System/Resource Analyst plays a vital role in healthcare organizations by ensuring that clinical information systems EHRs, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and other clinical ancillary support systems and programs are effectively implemented, maintained, and optimized to meet the needs of clinical staff. Acts as a bridge between clinical users (e.g., physicians, nurses) and IT teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with clinical workflows and improve patient care.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates, supports and maintains clinical computer software applications. Achieves objectives of assigned projects in an efficient manner, performing in-depth investigations for ways to make the organization more effective and productive.
- Monitors clinical systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Performs regular system updates, upgrades, and patches as necessary.
- Investigates and resolves technical issues with clinical systems, providing timely support to end-users and working closely with the IT department to address system bugs or failures.
- Evaluates and optimizes system performance based on user feedback, emerging technologies, and evolving clinical requirements. Interacts with staff and department management as it pertains to CDM requests for additions, changes and deletions. Updates clinical systems with changes as required.
- Leads or assists in the implementation of clinical information systems such as EHRs, computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems, and patient management systems.
- Customizes and configures clinical systems to meet the unique needs of different departments or specialties, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts system testing including unit testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and integration testing to ensure that systems work as expected and meet clinical needs.
- Analyzes clinical workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure that clinical systems are designed to support efficient and accurate care delivery.
- Implements solutions to streamline clinical processes, reduce manual errors, and enhance clinical documentation, enabling more efficient use of time and resources.
- Ensures that clinical systems integrate seamlessly with other healthcare applications (e.g., lab systems, radiology systems, pharmacy systems) for smooth data flow across the organization. Assists with problem analysis through testing and documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required in healthcare, information technology, or a related field. Relevant fields include health informatics, nursing, computer science, or healthcare administration. preferred
- 2-4 years experience implementing and supporting clinical systems. required
- Experience in clinical experience in acute care environment. required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Clinical Systems Expertise
Electronic Health Records (EHR): In-depth knowledge of EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) and their implementation, configuration, and optimization.
Interoperability Standards: Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), and DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine).
Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS): Understanding of how CDSS tools are used in clinical settings to improve decision-making and patient care.
- Database Management
SQL and Databases: Proficiency in querying clinical databases and understanding how to manipulate clinical data for reporting and analysis.
Data Analytics Tools: Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Crystal Reports, to provide insights based on clinical data.
- HIPAA Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
Regulatory Standards: Familiarity with other healthcare regulations and standards such as ICD-10, CPT, and SNOMED. - Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose system issues, analyze clinical workflows, and implement solutions that improve system performance and user experience.
