JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Central Processing (CPD) is responsible for overseeing, managing and ensuring efficient and accurate processing of taxpayer returns, payments, and state funds. This includes coordinating all activities related to the efficient and accurate processing of mail, documents, and data across various departments. The role involves strategic planning, leadership, and operational management to ensure the resources are processed efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and regulatory compliance. This role will also be overseeing the Central Processing team and will report to the Deputy Executive Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead with transparency and fairness by overseeing and directing the day-to-day operations of CPD sections, ensuring all processes align with regulatory compliance and best practices.
- Drive efficiencies through innovation by continuously evaluating and improving division activities, identifying opportunities for process enhancements, and implementing industry advancements.
- Ensure accountability and accuracy through the establishment and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard taxpayer funds and agency assets.
- Promote data-driven decision making by providing reports, processing statistics, and key insights to the executive director’s office.
- Maintain compliance & adaptability by overseeing and implementing process changes required due to legislative updates, internal control improvements, and tax code amendments.
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of central processing managers, supervisors and staff.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members perform effectively and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture and ensure staff members are engaged and well-equipped to meet department goals.
- Establish and monitor quality control procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in all processing outputs.
