We are seeking a Manager, Information Technology to lead and mature our IT department from foundational operations to enterprise-level scalability. In this role, you'll drive strategic improvements, process optimization, and automation initiatives while managing a growing team of IT professionals. You'll play a critical role in supporting our company's continued growth, including overseeing IT processes related to mergers and integrations as we acquire new companies and technologies.

This position is based in Durham, NC, with a hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days per week in office) and offers the opportunity to build and shape the IT function at one of the fastest-growing companies in sports tech.

Game Plan - How You'll Drive Impact:

  • Lead and manage the IT department, including direct oversight of current team members and future growth planning.
  • Drive strategic IT initiatives focused on process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency rather than just maintaining day-to-day operations.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through streamlined tech stacks, optimized hardware procurement, and improved device return policies.
  • Oversee IT processes related to company acquisitions and integrations, ensuring seamless technology transitions.
  • Develop and implement scalable IT processes and workflows using modern automation platforms and AI tools.
  • Establish and maintain IT standards, policies, and procedures that support rapid company growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using process optimization methodologies to enhance IT service delivery.

Player Profile - What You Bring to the Team:

  • Proven experience leading IT departments with a focus on scaling processes and automation, moving beyond basic maintenance to strategic improvement.
  • Strong technical expertise in IT support and system management, with hands-on experience using tools such as Okta, Jamf, and basic scripting (bash or shell).
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical expertise with high empathy and service-oriented leadership when managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with process optimization methodologies and workflow/project management, with preference for Six Sigma or lean certifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify scaling needs and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with modern automation platforms like Zapier and comfort working with AI tools to enhance productivity.
  • Experience managing IT processes related to company acquisitions, mergers, or rapid organizational growth.

The Ideal Recruit - Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Track record of successfully leading IT teams and fostering autonomy while maintaining high service standards.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure management, security protocols, and compliance requirements in fast-growing technology companies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems, cloud platforms, and modern IT service management practices.
  • Familiarity with sports technology, SaaS environments, or high-growth startup/scale-up environments.
  • Experience with vendor management, budget planning, and IT procurement processes.
