Job Description:
This role is a critical member of the Living Progress team, which is responsible for advancing HPE’s enterprise-wide sustainable business strategy by collaborating across the company to deliver positive social and environmental outcomes that maximize competitive advantage and contribute to business success.
This role will focus on developing and implementing best-in-class social impact programs, with an emphasis on applying HPE technology for social impact (75%) and driving HPE’s supplier diversity strategy (25%). We are looking for candidates who are agile team players and creative problem-solvers with strong project management and relationship-building skills. You will be adept at leading change through strategic engagement and partnership with internal technologists and external partners, translating business challenges into actionable strategies, and enhancing processes to accelerate achievement of HPE’s social impact and supplier diversity objectives.
Responsibilities
- Drives HPE’s “tech for social impact” strategy, partnering with Labs and HPE business units to apply our expertise and technologies to drive social impact in a targeted manner that drives future business opportunities and creates a thriving ecosystem that benefits both HPE and its partners.
- Proactively creates and sustains relationships with external decision makers and partners to enhance HPE’s ability to contribute positively to communities and to maintain a strong understanding of markets, opportunities, and readiness.
- Leads HPE’s supplier diversity programming, working cross functionally with procurement, the DEI team, and with external partners, suppliers, and others as needed to ensure HPE satisfies supplier diversity requirements such as Federal Small Business subcontracting annual plans.
- Partnering with the Sustainability and Compliance team to ensure that supplier diversity data is reported to customers in alignment with our contractual agreements.
- Continually grows understanding of industry trends and regulations and is able to easily flex/adjust as things change rapidly within the social impact and sustainability space.
- Establish KPIs and implement systems to evaluate the effectiveness, success, and impact of these programs.
- Manages special projects as needed, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget.
Education and Experience Required:
- 4+ years of business operations or sustainability expereince
- Familiarity with HPE's tech capabilities and previous engagement with Customers would be preferred
- Previous work experience within Program Management is preferred
- Understanding of financials and P&L
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience managing social impact programs, nonprofit initiatives, or relevant commercial relationships.
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, or supplier diversity is a plus.
- Familiarity working with early-stage startups, innovators, or SMBs.
- Able to understand tech needs of innovative startups and how HPE can help.
- Excellent analytical thinking and business judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
