The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek Gastroenterologist/ Hepatologist to join the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. Academic rank track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition is seeking highly skilled and compassionate Gastroenterologists to join our dynamic team. This role requires dedicated physicians who can manage a variety of responsibilities ranging from direct patient care to educational and research activities within the gastroenterology specialty. The candidates should be committed to improving patient outcomes and advancing the field through continuous learning and quality improvement efforts.

Two Distinct Career Pathways – One Exceptional Institution

We understand that career goals vary. That’s why we offer two competitive compensation models:

  • Academic Track: For those passionate about teaching, research, and academic leadership. Base salary starting at $440,000 plus bonuses, with opportunities for scholarly mentorship and advancement.
  • Clinical Track: For those focused on high-quality patient care. Base salary reaching $590,000 with three years of practice, with productivity incentives and leadership opportunities in clinical operations.

Under the visionary leadership of Division Director Georgios Papachristou, MD, PhD, the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition has experienced significant growth and expansion. Today, the Division includes 44 gastroenterologists, 20 advanced practice providers (APPs), and 3 PhD research faculty, representing a diverse group of nationally and internationally recognized experts across the full spectrum of gastroenterology and hepatology subspecialties.

This growth has enabled us to expand access to highly specialized clinical services and meet the increasing healthcare needs of the rapidly growing Columbus region and beyond. Our faculty are dedicated to providing outstanding patient-centered care while driving innovation through cutting-edge clinical, translational, and basic science research.

With more than $6 million in annual research funding from federal agencies, foundations, and industry partners, the Division continues to advance discoveries that improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Our investigators collaborate across disciplines to translate scientific breakthroughs into meaningful improvements in patient outcomes.
