JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for verifying conformance of manufactured parts, primarily using CMM, other digital methodology, and conventional inspection methods. Generates inspection reports and assist with troubleshooting issues with Quality Assurance and Operations.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Works from Catia and other 3D Models as well as 2D blueprints. Interprets engineering requirements, GD&T, and configuration changes to develop inspection criteria.  
•    Knowledgeable of engineering specifications, Quality procedures and functional testing requirements appropriate to the area of assignment.
•    Proficient in using CMM and other digital inspection equipment.  Assist CMM programmer in developing CMM programs and able to troubleshoot and correct existing CMM programs.
•    IQ Auditor and coaches iQ qualified employees as required.
•    Inspects parts and ensures acceptable appearance, function, tolerances, dimensions, and specifications.  
•    Completes and maintains a variety of inspection paperwork.   
•    Assists Quality Engineers with Root Cause Corrective Action investigations. 
•    Able to interpret and conform new model engineering change with feedback to Engineering. Able to complete First Article Inspection (FAI). 
•    Understands and able to perform Material Review Board functions, when approved. 
•    Proficient in business applications required for the area of work assigned.
•    Communicates with the FAA or other external auditors.
•    Communicates to external customers if required.
•    Possess or able to attain certification/qualifications appropriate to assigned area.
•    Communicates effectively and works well with others.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:

Requires high school education and working knowledge/experience using drawings, specifications, basic math and technical knowledge. Associate degree preferred.  Green Belt Certification or Continuous Improvement training preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite preferred. 

EXPERIENCE:

Requires 3-5 years CMM experience. Possesses a solid grasp of the technical skills necessary to perform the job and be willing to work in all areas of support.  Preferred work experience in 3 different areas of Quality support for a minimum of 6 months in each area.
