Poker Dealer - Part Time (Harrah's Laughlin)

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of dealing various Poker games, such as “Hold’em” and “7 Card Stud” while providing friendly, excellent service to every guest.

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides prompt, accurate and courteous service to players.  Deals and runs the game at hand in accordance with departmental procedures. Maintains the pace of the poker game.  Responsible for the Table Tray Bank assigned for the shift. Handles financial transactions at the poker game. Collects the poker revenue (“the rate”) from the pot in accordance with departmental raking procedures. Collects the Jack Pot money from the pots in accordance with departmental Jack Pot procedures.  Monitors the game at hand for customer problems.  Monitors the chips and money on the game at hand.  Works on the poker room floor in other capacities as directed by the Poker Floor Supervisor which will include rotation at the cashier booth. Enforces poker rules at the game.

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:  Sufficient work experience in dealing to indicate a high probability of success as a dealer. One-year previous Poker dealing experience required.  Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.  Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.  Must present a well-groomed appearance. Gaming License required.

 

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and hear. Dexterity to utilize tools. Walk up and down stairs. Work in hot temperatures. Work in cold temperatures. Work in Secondhand smoke environment. Maneuver in confined spaces. Accurate Money/chip handling. Tolerate high noise areas. Will have guest contact. Work flexible schedules. Understand, read, write and speak English. Sit for long periods of time
