Salary Range:

$141,000.00 - $183,000.00

What’s the role?

Etsy is seeking a Senior Compliance Monitoring and Testing Manager to help strengthen and expand our global compliance program. This role ensures our compliance controls are effective across all Etsy marketplaces and offices worldwide.

Our program covers areas such as anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, payments, conduct and culture, and third-party oversight.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Compliance Oversight. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
 

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Our team, the Compliance Oversight team acts as the second line of defense, partnering with teams like Trust & Safety, Payments, Privacy, Strategic Sourcing, Information Security, Human Resources, and Finance to guide and review compliance activities.

We partner across the business to identify, assess, and manage compliance risks, ensuring Etsy continues to operate as a trusted and responsible marketplace. As part of the broader Legal & Compliance organization we work collaboratively with global colleagues to align processes, share guidelines, and drive continuous improvement.
 

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Manage a comprehensive, risk-based compliance monitoring and testing program, including test plan development, execution, and reporting.

• Oversee the execution of compliance testing across program areas such as anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, payments, conduct and culture, and third-party oversight.

• Provide guidance and feedback to a team of outsourced monitoring and testing professionals on ongoing assurance activities.

• Collaborate with first-line operational functions to ensure effective identification, mitigation, and monitoring of compliance risks.

• Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, and other stakeholders to align and strengthen testing methodologies and outcomes.

• Exercises sound judgment and critical thinking, with a commitment to continuous improvement. Drive continuous improvement of the compliance monitoring and testing methodology, tools, and processes.

• Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports on testing results for senior management and the Board.

• Track and report on the remediation of identified issues and control gaps.

• Keep current on regulatory developments and evolving practices in compliance monitoring and testing.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• 8+ years of experience in compliance, with a focus on monitoring and testing in a global financial services or e-commerce environment.

• Experience developing and leading compliance monitoring and testing programs.

• Knowledge of compliance regulations and practices across anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and payments.

• Ability to design and apply risk-based testing methodologies.

• Skilled in analysis and problem-solving, with the abi
