Job Title:

Summer 2025 Electrical Engineering Intern

Summary:

Intern will be responsible for chartering, scoping and executing a variety of projects on electrical, instrument and control systems within a chemical processing plant. Project categories include but are not limited to improving equipment reliability, enhancing preventive/predictive maintenance programs, maintaining equipment master data and supporting capital projects/strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

• Equipment Reliability

  • Improving the reliability of assets with low Mean Time Between Failures and/or high maintenance costs.

• Predictive/Preventative Maintenance Program

  • Evaluating the site PM program to eliminate non-value-added work and identify areas for optimization.

• Equipment Master Data

  • Updating and Organizing equipment records to ensure accuracy and ease of retrieval.

• Capital Projects / Strategic Initiatives

  • Interfacing utility meters to the site control system.

• Assess opportunities to reduce electric consumption at the site.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or Master's program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Ability to function in an industrial setting, work safely and manage multiple projects.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Excel.

Program Requirements

• The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

• The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

Please note, payrate rate range may increase with higher level degrees such as Masters/PhD levels.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing is required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be U.S. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT VERBIAGE required. Occasional lifting, moving up to 50 lbs., and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).
The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
