ERISA/Benefits Associate Attorney

As a Benefits Associate Attorney you will engage in sophisticated and challenging ERISA work for clients in Ohio and nationwide. Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years of employee benefits experience with knowledge of retirement plans, health and welfare plans, Taft-Hartley benefit plans and executive compensation.  The position requires the ability to manage complex case assignments, strong communication, research and writing skills, and the ability to manage and communicate with clients on an ongoing basis.

This position will work in-person at our Toledo, Ohio office.  

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Active Ohio bar license
• 3+ years’ professional ERISA law practice experience 
• Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
• Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases
• Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadline
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
• Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day  
• Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
