About the role

Production Lead is responsible for performing technical duties in one or more of the functional areas: electronic, mechanical or systems. The Manufacturing Technician completes tests, measurements, operations and process controls.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  •  Perform technical duties on functional work group projects. 
  • Install industrial piping systems: chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensed water. 
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints and submittals. 
  • Fabricate pipe supports and spool copper lines. 
  • Work independently and suggest solutions through MOC requests and appropriate chains of command. 
  • Ensure all quality requirements are met, and that required quality documentation is properly completed. 
  • Repair, cap, and test all types of plumbing piping. 
  • Give guidance to plumbing helpers. 
  • Adhere to all SLB safety procedures. 
  • Employ test techniques and procedures for key cell projects. 
  • Use job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travelers and bills of material. 
  • Maintain production tools and equipment. 
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose product, process or program defects and repair them. 
  • Ensure ability to: read blueprints, identify components, perform wire preparation, stripping and crimping; perform harness repair and termination and use pertinent manual hand tools. 
  • Maintain skills in electronics, hydraulics and mechanical assemblies, automated machine operation and programming. 
  • Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Planning, layout, installing, and repairing a wide variety of complex electrical equipment including control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, and other equipment. 
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, detect, and replace defective control modules, test and adjust. 
  • Familiar with bandsaws and other fabrication equipment. 
  • Perform a variety of plumbing, mechanical and carpentry functions.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision. 
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 
  • Familiar with installing equipment including motors, pumps, valves. 
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns. 
  • Use hand and machine tools as necessary. 
  • Remove and replace parts for repairs or machine upgrades as directed. 
  • Considerable judgment required to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available. 
  • Able to make decisions involving initiative and ingenuity. 
  • Able to identify and correct issues in production equipment. 
  • Able to handle multi-task situations and work independently with minimum supervision. 
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment in performing duties. 
  • Exhibit professionalism in dealing with others and maintain constructive working relationships. 
  • Ensures that his/her team follows and adheres to all the relevant Standards and Procedures
  • Works with the supervisor and team members to identify and organize the best approach to executing workload
  • Monitors and guides good working practices relating to QHSE and Quality of team members.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  •  5+ years of pipe, structural fabrication, or maintenance technician experience 
  • Adhere to all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.  
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer E-mail and other basic use programs.  
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical and electrical prints.  
  • Ability to identify and correct issues with basic electrical components and basic mechanical functions. 
  • Knowledge and ability to assemble, install, maintain, and repair equipment such as chillers, pumps, closed vats, and other large vessels or containers that hold liquids and gases. 
  • Knowledge of P&ID diagrams. 
  • Knowledge of pipe and conduit routing. 
  • Ability to use test and measurement tools, tape measures and OD Mics.  
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  SAP Experience 
  • Electrical certification or degree
