Data Scientist 4
OracleAbout the role
The Oracle Health Data Intelligence Platform is looking for an upbeat, experienced algorithm content designer to build population health algorithms that measure and improve the quality of care for millions of patients on the platform. You will demonstrate your knowledge of the healthcare industry, standard methodologies, and regulatory reporting requirements to provide our customers with algorithms critical to patient health and our customer's business needs. Additionally, you'll work to ensure that our work is in alignment with the platform's industry-leading data model and terminology systems.
Career Level - IC4
Experience
- Clinical experience as a registered nurse, pharmacist, clinical laboratory technician, respiratory therapist, or other clinical role.
- Experience working in quality measurement or care management services.
- Experience in a clinical informatics role.
- Clinical informatics experience:
- Familiarity with clinical EHR systems and data.
- Collaboration with healthcare professionals, providers, IT specialists, and business users in analyzing clinical workflows and seeing opportunities for improvement.
- Quality measurement, care coordination, or other outcomes-based improvement programs.
- Use of clinical data for evidence-based decision making.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret regulatory quality measurement specifications and build requirements to implement quality measure algorithms on the Oracle Health Data Intelligence Platform.
- Participate in design conversations with internal and customer collaborators to ensure that the platform's algorithms meet the patient care, regulatory, and business needs of our customers.
- Design clinical algorithms that can scale to extremely large populations and are replicable across customers with disparate data sources.
- Collaborate work effort across multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful end-to-end customer experiences. Communicate clearly and accurately with various roles including clinicians, administrators, analysts, and engineers.
- Build and curate clinical value sets composed of industry standard terminologies such as SNOMED CT, ICD, and CPT. Ensure that these value sets meet the clinical and business needs of algorithms.
- Ensure that customer data support the needs of the platform's clinical algorithms. Work with internal teams to run ad hoc investigations to validate clinical algorithms and value sets against real-world customer data.
- Define algorithm success criteria with measurable encouraged outcomes.
- Inform and assist internal teams with the design of automation and tooling to improve the algorithm development process.
- Coordinate efforts across multiple internal teams and knowledge areas to ensure clinical algorithms perform optimally.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert within the team and lead less experienced team members as a mentor.
