Advanced Practice Provider - Outpatient Cardiology

Work as part of a cardiovascular team to improve outpatient access for Cardiology patients in a busy academic practice. In this role as a Cardiology, ambulatory APP, you will work alongside attending cardiologists, with other cardiology APPs, and with the support of cardiology nurses and staff to take care of Cardiology patients. This role will focus on General Cardiovascular Medicine and have opportunities to participate in educational and scholarly activities that elevate an academic clinical environment. Though APPs in this role will collaborate with and share all patients with attending physicians, significant autonomy is both encouraged and fostered, as our cardiology APPs will learn to manage acute and chronic conditions with increasing independent expertise.
The schedule is 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. NO WEEKENDS, NO NIGHTS, NO CALL.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA Program
- Licensed, or eligible, for North Carolina as an NP or PA
- Current American Heart Assoc. BLS and ACLS certification preferred
- APP post-graduate experience is strongly preferred. Clinical experience, inpatient or outpatient,--especially within the cardiovascular field--preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
- Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines
