Senior VMWare SME

Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a Senior VMWare Subject Matter Expert to join our team in support of a new contract at the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Responsiveness. This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.

The Senior VMWare Subject Matter Expert is responsible for all administration aspects of our clients VMWare infrastructure, both on prem and in the cloud, providing technical guidance and solutions to all levels of staff and management, both government and contractor. Working with Project Team Leads and Project Managers to produce the highest quality products.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Supporting VMWare environments both on prem and in the cloud
• Provide VMWare technical guidance, leadership, and knowledge
• Provide VMWare administration both on prem and in the cloud
• Managing, configurating, and supporting on prem VxRail virtual environments
• Managing VMWare related upgrades
• Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management

Requirements:

• Clearance:
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

• Education:
• Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Experience with implementation and administration of VMWare hosting environments
• Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, analyzing, and maintaining on prem and cloud environments
• Experience managing, configurating, and supporting on prem VxRail virtual environments
• Experience with VMWare products such as SDDC, VCF, vSphere, and vSAN
• Experience performing VMWare and VxRail upgrades
• Experience VxRail STIG hardening deployment
• Experience creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements
• Experience producing quality documentation
• Experience working with Federal government clients

• VMWare knowledge and experience
• VxRail knowledge and experience
• Cloud knowledge and experience
• Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience a plus
• SharePoint knowledge and experience a plus
• Platform and data migration knowledge and experience a plus
• Cyber Security knowledge and experience a plus
