About the role

As a Menzies Aviation De-icing Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, planning, assigning, and assisting qualified personnel to perform de-icing duties by minimizing delays and increasing productivity and efficiency.  Supervises and coordinates air carrier de-icing and service operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures all employees are properly qualified on assigned equipment and assists subordinates with proper procedures, methods, and practices to be followed for each respective duty.
  • Ensures all equipment, tools, and facilities are maintained in a serviceable and working condition.
  • Responsible for ascertaining that all work requested by the customer is completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Ensures training records are properly maintained and readily available.
  • Ensure all safety policies are adhered to.
  • Coordinates hiring/training and staffing needs.
  • Ensures all deicing activity is performed in accordance with customer and Menzies.
  • Reviews reports and all deicing related activity records.
  • Ensures and monitors fluid inventory; makes sure equipment functions properly. 
  • Ensures all work schedules are adhered to or provides adequate advance notice to the proper persons stating the reason for delay.
  • Supervise De-icers, allocating De-icing agents’ resources as needed
  • Ensure that De-icing personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
  • Complete shift reports
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
  • Operate motorized equipment
  • Operate various pieces of ground support equipment
  • Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role
  • Meets the Station’s attendance standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Computer literate.
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Must be comfortable with heights of up to 40 feet
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays (Flexible schedule is needed due to the ever-changing airline schedules).
  • Strong interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills
  • Efficient at conflict resolution, problem solving and working well with others
  • Maintains the highest level of professionalism and integrity. 
  • To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to Safety and security
  • Must have read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual, and the Station Security Manual
