Consultant, Environmental Data Quality Scientist (Mid-Level)

ERM is seeking an Consultant, Environmental Data Quality Scientist in Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in a career focused on laboratory analytical data quality. As part of our team, you will work on large environmental projects across North America, and support ERM’s projects worldwide. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform environmental data verification and validation in accordance with national, regional, and/or project specific guidelines.
Coordinate with ERM/client contracted laboratories to ensure that project data quality objectives are being met.
Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.
Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Work with ERM’s various Technical Communities to develop innovative data services and automated workflows.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, toxicology or related field.
2+ years of relevant experience.
Prior experience working in analytical laboratory and/or performing data validation.
Knowledge of various analytical methods related to environmental sampling.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Comfortable working at a desk performing computer-based tasks.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Work.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
3+ years of previous work experience in environmental data quality with strong analytical skills.
Experience performing environmental data validation and/or data quality reviews in accordance with USEPA National Functional Guidelines (NFGs) and/or other regional data review guidance (TRRP, NYSDEC DUSR, ADEC, etc.).
Experience with sample preparation and analysis and use of various analytical laboratory instruments (GC/MS, GC, ICP, LC, etc.).
Experience with environmental field sample collection procedures.
Experience with EarthSoft’s EQuIS™ software.
For the Consultant, Environmental Data Quality Scientist position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $70,000 – $81,813 USD. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
