Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safe innovation. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment, dedication, and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse, multi-disciplinary engineers, you will be part of the development of radar systems for Blue Origin’s lunar spacecraft. You will be part of a team responsible for development and optimization of RF subsystems from early concepts and product specifications to integration with flight vehicles. In this role, you will leverage your understanding of RF design and manufacturing principles to enhance our lander navigation system performance by leveraging material properties, geometric constraints, and theoretical system efficiency. Your contributions will enable flight of state-of-the-art aerospace vehicles and missions.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Own and support selection of appropriate RF components (amplifiers, filters, switches, etc.) and design RF subsystem prototype units and PCBAs that meet the performance metrics and close on navigation requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians across multiple product disciplines to guide the design, development, and delivery of qualified radar components and RF subsystems on schedule and budget
  • Work with your peers in the engineering and navigations teams to derive radar performance metrics, e.g., gain, noise figure, bandwidth, and timing
  • Routinely collaborate with supply chain and other teams within the company to ensure smooth execution of the development efforts from part procurement to board assembly and testing
  • Relentlessly look for opportunities to increase performance, enable new capabilities, reduce cost, and reduce cycle time/production time
