Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, AR, is seeking a Biomechanics Lab Manager (Research Associate II) to join our dynamic research team within a state-of-the-art human motion capture laboratory. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day lab operations, collecting and analyzing biomechanical data, and supporting ongoing research activities.

The biomechanics lab features two advanced 3D motion capture spaces designed to assess gait and sports motion. Equipment includes an 18-camera Vicon system for both markered and markerless motion capture using Theia Markerless, embedded force platforms, electromyography (EMG), isokinetic testing, and more. The lab also houses a dedicated golf research suite equipped with a ForeSight launch monitor and simulator, TrackMan launch monitor, Swing Catalyst force plates, and an 8-camera Vicon system. Additional tools include accelerometers, IMUs, an instrumented staircase, and a HUMAC Rehab System.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Engineering, or a related field PLUS six (6) years of research experience require
