We're currently seeking a capable, compassionate Emergency Department RN to provide frontline emergency care in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. 


Location: Weiser Memorial Hospital – Weiser, Idaho
Schedule: Full-Time | Includes rotating weekends, holidays, and shared on-call
Salary Range: $31.58 - $51.91 per hour, based on experience

Status: Non-Exempt, Eligible for overtime
Department: Emergency 


Job Description

  • Triage, assess, and manage patients across all age groups with varying levels of acuity
  • Respond rapidly and accurately to changes in patient conditions
  • Administer medications and IV fluids in compliance with safety protocols
  • Monitor hemodynamic and cardiac status, interpreting and responding to critical data
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and recovery
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
  • Support performance improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness
  • Train and mentor new staff and contribute to departmental growth

Schedule Expectations and Basic Skills

  • Rotates weekends and holidays
  • Shares on-call responsibilities with other ED nurses
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English (additional languages a plus)
  • Basic math skills (rates, ratios, percentages)
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in stressful situations
  • Commitment to Weiser’s standards of performance improvement and service excellence

Working Environment 

  • Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, diseases, and hazardous materials
  • Requires lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and working on your feet for most of the shift
  • Physical endurance and stability necessary for emergency patient care
  • Must possess sensory capabilities including hearing, touch, and vision for patient assessment and response

Requirements


Education & Experience: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with three years registered nurse experience within the last 48 months, and two years of critical care or emergency nursing experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience within the last 48 months  

Licensure & Certifications: 

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Idaho  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required  
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required within 6 months of hire  
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required within 8 months of hire  
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Recommended within 12 months of hire  
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – Recommended within 18 months of hire  
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – Encouraged  
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CERN) – Strongly encouraged after 2 years of ED experience

General: 

  • Ability to use sound judgment and cope with potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of performance improvement and organizational values.
  • Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence. 
  • Able to communicate effectively in Engly, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. 
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide - figure rates, ratio, and percent).
  • Basic computer knowledge. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
